Is a contemporary landscape park that exhibits everything from large sculpture to  drawings and photographs, giving visitors the experience of perceiving art in nature.

One featured artist, Jean Shin, who specializes in using recycled material, made a long picnic table with the 25 maples tree that have been replaced. She left the old tree trunks together with the new trees so that the viewer will react to time and space. I prefer not seeing the dead tree trunks together with the new ones because everything in life recycles and esthetic is important.

Another exhibition currently in The Storm King is from Mark Dion: Follies. He has investigated the connection between art, nature and culture by displaying structures indoor and outdoor, which inspire humor and melancholy.

The wall that Andy Goldsworthy made around trees and stones was really impressive and watching his work during the field trip inside the bus helped me understand the process of his creation, how much he observes nature and interacts with it. His work  was a lesson in how to wait for the perfect moment to see the cycles of nature interacting with nature and to witness all the frustration he had to go through in order to achieve what he desired.

The scale and proportion between the park and the sculpture is something that plays with our sensation. We could find small sculptures placed close to each other and very large scale ones placed far away from each other with different shapes and colors.

This park is 2/3 of the size of Central Park and is a place that I want to come back to again soon.
